Thank you to all who made our second Together Green a great success!

We met at 9:00, with a Girl Scout troop from Owasso joining us. Vinny Robinson of Oxley explained the problem of invasive species, and instructed us on the procedures to follow. We were to remove wisteria that had begun to take over a patch of woods behind the picnic shelter. The procedure was to cut the vines near the ground and then spray the remaining root or stump with a herbicide. The girls were outfitted with loppers, and selected adults were armed with spray bottles of herbicide.

After about two hours of work (and those Girl Scouts really did work!) we enjoyed a lunch of grilled hot dogs, chips and fruit provided by the Friends of Oxley.
