Tulsa Audubon meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month (except June-August)

Mountain Plover: Oh, the Farmer and the Plover Should be Friends with John Shackford. A dedicated researcher will discuss this interesting species and the unusual story behind its rejection for Endangered Species status.


October 17, 2006

Shorebirds in NE Oklahoma: Their Status, Migration, Timing, and  Identification Tips with Jim Arterburn. A renowned birder will share his knowledge of where to find shorebirds and how to tell them apart when you do.

Perusing Peru with Carol Eames
Amy Morris was originally scheduled to present this program, but will be out of town.  Carol, who led the trip Amy was on, will be presenting the program.

Perusing Peru with Amy Morris. As a first-time traveler to the rainforests and highlands of Peru, Amy, an interpretive naturalist at Oxley Nature Center, was captivated by the diversity of the land and its people.

Annual Christmas Show and Tell PartyAttendees are invited to bring stories, slides, or digital presentations (up to about 10) on any subject of general interest (travel, birds, wildflowers, etc.) to share with the group.  Members bring treats to share after the meeting.  Please contact Gail Storey, 742-2684 or gailstorey@sbcglobal.net about your presentation. Please bring your digital photos on a CD or flash drive.

Biodiversity and Germplasm Conservation with Angela Davis. CANCELLED  The speaker, a research geneticist at the USDA’s South Central Agricultural Research Lab, will share her unique perspective on protecting our natural resources. A decrease in biodiversity can have devastating effects on a population's ability to survive. Dr. Davis will discuss how habitat destruction affects our environment and our food supply.


February 20, 2007

Lepidoptera and Lepidopterists in Oklahoma with John Nelson.  An acclaimed scientist will recount the major contributors to the knowledge of butterflies and moths in the state, along with his own involvement in the field.


March 20, 2007

Migratory Birds with Mark Howery.  The speaker, a biologist with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, will discuss the mysteries and challenges of migration.

Wildflowers with Kim Shannon.  Experience the beauties of our native flora with an enthusiastic and recognized expert from Sutton Avian Research Center.
