107 Species, 37,519 individual birds, 38 participants, Saturday Dec. 19, 2009

We ended the day with 107 species plus two additional species in the count week for a total of 109 compared with 106 for 2008.  The total number of birds totaled 37,519 which is really down from the 185,585 for 2008.  The word was that we had to really work for our birds this year.It was cloudy all day, temperatures ranged in the mid-thirties, water was open and flowing. We had a total of 38 people participating in 13 parties for a total of 92.25 party hours.  We spent 70 hours 15 minutes in the car driving a total 501 miles while walking 15 and 1/4 miles required 19 hr 15 min.
